Port 443 Must Be Available to Complete Laserfiche 8 Server Activation or to Use SSL/TLS.

Laserfiche 8, Laserfiche 9

Summary

On the Laserfiche Server machine, port 443 must be open and free if:

  • You must complete Laserfiche Server activation, as this port is used to communicate with the Laserfiche activation server. Activation can be performed during installation or using the Laserfiche Activation Utility. If this port is not available, activation may fail.
  • You have configured the Laserfiche Server to use SSL/TLS on port 443. If this port is not available, the Laserfiche Server may fail to start.

Resolution

Ensure port 443 is open and free using the netstat utility. For example, the following netstat command writes a log file to the root of the machine's C drive that reports that status of all ports:

netstat -ab -> c:\netstat.txt

Note: In addition to port 443, also ensure all ports defined for the Server in the Laserfiche Administration Console are open and free..
