Summary

Adobe Reader X does not include a PDF IFilter. You cannot rely on installing Adobe Reader X to provide an IFilter for text extraction support.

Resolution

Laserfiche Client 8.2 includes expanded support for PDF files and supports native text extraction without having to rely on IFilter text extraction. Please upgrade to the latest version of the Laserfiche Client.

Workaround

The Adobe Web site (Adobe.com) provides standalone installations of Adobe PDF IFilter v5.0, Adobe PDF IFilter v6.0, and Adobe PDF IFilter 9 for 64-bit platforms.
