Summary

When you use Import Agent 8 to import image files with a .TIFF file extension, Import Agent may create electronic documents of the .tiff files instead of creating imaged documents.

Cause

On the File Types tab of the Import Agent Options dialog box, the Images section contains an entry for tif, but not tiff. Import Agent does not recognize the 4 letter file extension.

Resolution

Modify the registry and manually add the tiff extension to the ImageExtensions string value under the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Laserfiche\Import Agent 8\Settings" registry key.

To modify the ImageExtensions registry value

1. Click Start and then click Run. (On Windows Vista or later, type the following directly in the Search box).
2. Type the following and then click OK to load the Windows Registry Editor.

3. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
4. SOFTWARE.
5. On a 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows, expand Wow6432Node.
6. Laserfiche.
7. Import Agent 8.
8. Settings.
9. In the ImageExtensions string value, append tiff to the list.
