- When upgrading from Web Access 8.1 to Web Access 8.2, the installation will reset the application pool identity for the WebAccess8AppPool to "Network Service." (66228)

Web Access Scanning is included as a standalone installation package on the Web Access DVD. This standalone installation package is automatically copied to your Web Access installation folder so that users can download and install the scanning client on their own computers. If you know that specific computers will need to scan from Web Access, you can choose to directly run the installation package from the DVD on those computers.

Select the Custom setup type during the installation to choose to manually install available Langauge Packs. By default, if you choose to display the installation in a non-English language, the installation attempts to automatically install the corresponding Language Pack.

The Laserfiche SharePoint Integration 8.1 is included as a separate installation package on the Web Access DVD.

Web Access Light is the mobile edition of Web Access. It is designed to be used on mobile devices such as iPhones and Blackberries. It is included with the Web Access installation. For more information on using Web Access Light, see the Web Access Light 8.2 help files.

Web Access Static Components top Web Access 8.2 introduces the the option of installing a second copy of the Web Access static components on a separate Web server from the main Web Access server. This allows you to distribute resource load as well as potentially decreasing load times in a WAN environment as remote offices can host their own copies of the static components.
The Web Access 8 static components are available in a separate installation package on the Web Access DVD. By default, the installation is in the "en-US\WebAccess\Install\Static" subfolder.
Minimum Server Requirements
- CPU: 2 GHz or faster processor
- Memory: 1 GB RAM
- Operating system: Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) with IIS 5.1, Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 1) with IIS 6, Windows Server 2008 with IIS 7, Windows Vista Premium or higher with IIS 7, Windows 7 Premium or higher with IIS 7.5, Windows Server 2008 R2 with IIS 7.5
Note: Server operating systems (Windows Server 2008, etc.) are preferred.
Note: Home Basic and Home Starter editions of Windows Vista and Windows 7 do not include the necessary IIS Web server features to install Web Access.
Note: The Home Premium editions of Windows Vista and Windows 7 do not include the Windows Authentication feature in IIS. Users will not be able to use Windows authentication to log in to Web Access or access the Web Access Configuration Page from a remote computer.

- CPU: 2.8 GHz or faster processor
- Memory: 2 GB RAM
Note: Hardware requirements may fluctuate based on the number of users logged in to the server. If you expect to have many simultaneous connections to your Web Access server, we encourage you to configure it with a faster CPU and/or add more RAM.
- You cannot change the default color for highlight annotations in text pane. (67643)
- In certain situations, Web Access may not automatically text annotations when you delete the text associated with that text annotation. (67639)
- You must use the Refresh toolbar button in the Web Access Document Viewer to pick up updated metadata values if you edit metadata from Web Scanning. (67539)
- Attempting to modify a document that cannot be browsed to in the folder browser may display an "Entry not found" error message. (66372)
- Web Access cannot display image tiles for new documents that are imported when the lfshlp.exe component is not running on the Laserfiche Server. (64712)
- Refreshing the browser in Safari and Chrome will close the current search pane and display the folder browser pane. (64194)
- You may be unable to view the right-click context menu in the Document Viewer's text pane when using Safari or Chrome. (63244)
- Web Scanning is not supported on Safari. (62900)
- Text annotations in the Document Viewer's text pane do not function on Firefox 2. (56994)
- Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration on Windows Server operating systems can interfere with help popups. (56364)
Known Issues with Web Browser Compatibility
Known Issues for the Web Access 8.2 Language Packs
- If the Web browser is not configured to use the Islamic-civil calendar locale, clicking a date field or viewing the pop-up calendar may display a different Hijri date. (66836)
- Breadcrumb links may be disabled for long names when using the Arabic Language Pack. (55481)
- When exporting a zip file, Web Access uses only ASCII characters for file names. (42985)
Known Issues for Web Access on an iPad
- You cannot double click to open items. Use File menu options or toolbar buttons to open folders and documents.
- As there is no right-click functionality, use menu options or toolbar buttons.
- You cannot directly import or export items. If Web Access is configured to use an SMTP server to automatically send e-mail messages, you can choose to send documents as e-mail attachments.
- You cannot check in or check out items.
- Annotation types that require two or more clicks or require you to hold the mouse and drag may not function (e.g., rectangle annotations).
- You cannot drag and drop items.
- You cannot cannot drag and resize panes.
- You may be unable to use the Document Viewer's text pane to edit text. (68038)
- If your repository contains a large number of fields, you will be unable to add independent fields. (68041)
- You must use two fingers to scroll within a frame on a Web page (e.g., the Web Access panes) and use one finger to scroll the entire Web page. To scroll back to the top of the Web page, tap the status bar at the top of the iPad screen.
