Kodak’s iThresholding Settings are Not Saved After Laserfiche Scanning is Closed.

October 11, 2010 | KB: 1012685
Laserfiche Scanning 8.0

Summary

Laserfiche Scanning enables you to launch a scanner's configuration menu and modify the scanner's settings. In many cases, these settings will be retained when Laserfiche Scanning is closed, and will remain configured the next time Laserfiche Scanning interfaces with the scanner.

Note: Scanner driver settings are saved to a file named setscan.ini in the scanning machine's Windows directory (e.g., c:\WINDOWS).

Since Kodak exposes additional software on top of the scanner driver in order to implement its iThresholding feature, it does not save settings that a user defines via a third-party (i.e., non-Kodak) scanning interface (e.g., Laserfiche Scanning). As a result, users will have to reconfigure these settings each time they use Laserfiche Scanning with the Kodak scanner.

Note: iThresholding is designed to reduce presorting, rescaning, and postimage processing by automatically adjusting for highlighting, low contrast, and light-weight paper situations that might otherwise require manual adjustments. For more information, refer to Kodak's official documentation.
