What Happens When Laserfiche Server 8 and Quick Fields 8 Cannot Connect to the License Manager in a Laserfiche Rio Environment?

Summary

In a Laserfiche Rio environment, Laserfiche Server 8 and Laserfiche Quick Fields 8 must periodically contact the License Manager. When unable to connect to the License Manager, Laserfiche Server 8.2 contains a 7-day grace period, while Quick Fields 8 contains a 3-day grace period. If they are unable to contact the License Manager after the grace period has ended, the following occurs:

  • The Laserfiche Server will automatically shut down. Subsequently, the service is limited to running in 1-hour increments until it can reestablish contact with the License Manager.
  • The Quick Fields license file becomes invalid. You must regenerate a new license file for that Quick Fields installation.
