Snapshot 8

Summary

When printing with Snapshot 8, you may receive the following error message:

Error printing 'ElectronicDocumentName': No pages were printed [13908] [6341]

Resolution 1

If the error occurs for all documents of a certain file type, make sure that the file type is associated with a program that can print that file type.

To verify that a file type is associated with a native application

  1. Open the Laserfiche Client and log in to your repository.
  2. Right-click on a problem electronic document and point to Open and select Electronic File.
  3. If you receive a prompt stating that "Windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it" and gives you of choice of using the Web to find a program or to select a program from a list, then you need to associate that file type with an application before you can use Laserfiche Snapshot. See the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article for more information:
  4. Change the program that opens a type of file

How to change or select which program starts when you double-click a file in Windows XP

Resolution 2

Verify that the associated native program supports automatic printing. Save a copy of the file to the desktop of your computer, right-click on that copy and make sure that the context menu contains a Print option. If there is no Print option, then the program does not properly support automatic printing.

Try reinstalling the problematic program associated with the file type.

Resolution 3

If all document types are failing or if you are redirected to a physical printer, try setting Snapshot as the default printer.

Resolution 4

If Snapshot is also failing when printing from the native application, try clearing out the user's temporary folder as specified by the Windows system environment variable.

On Windows Vista and later, the default path is located at "C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp."

On Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, the default path is located at "C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temp."
