After installing WebLink 8 on a Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 computer, IIS may not contain a "WebLink 8 Reporting" virtual directory.
This issue can occur when installing WebLink 8 on a Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 computer when Laserfiche Server 8 is also installed and running on the same computer.
Temporarily shut down the Laserfiche Server service before running the WebLink installation.
- Stop the Laserfiche Server service.
- Uninstall Laserfiche WebLink 8.
- Reinstall Laserfiche WebLink 8.
- Restart the Laserfiche Server service.
Manually create an IIS virtual directory for WebLink 8 Reporting.
To create a virtual directory in IIS 6 for Windows Server 2003

- Select Default Web Site.
- From the Action menu, point to New, and then click Virtual Directory.
- Click Next.

On a 64-bit version of Windows, the default path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Laserfiche\WebLink 8\WebLink8Reporting."
- Click Next.
- From the Virtual Directory Access Permissions step, select the Read and Run scripts (such as ASP) options.
- Click Next, and then click Finish.
- Configure the virtual directory to use the WebLink8AppPool application pool.
- In the IIS Manager window, select your newly created virtual directory.
- From the Action menu, click Properties.
- On the Virtual Directory tab, in the Application pool drop-down list, select the WebLink8AppPool application pool.
- Specify a default page.
- In the IIS Manager window, select your newly created virtual directory.
