Summary

This article details hotfix 1012641 for PdfExporter80.dll. PdfExporter80.dll (version 8.0.2.896) resolves the following issues:

• Imaged documents exported in PDF format should no longer have excessively large file sizes. (48874)
• PdfExporter no longer automatically converts black & white images to grayscale. This results in smaller file sizes for exported PDF files. (56333)
• PdfExporter now uses a compressed image format when exporting color images and no longer creates color PDF files with unexpectedly large file sizes. (58275)

The fix is included in a self-contained Windows Installer patch file for WebLink 8.0.2 that updates the following file:

• PdfExporter80.dll (version 8.0.2.896)

To update WebLink 8.0.2

1. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the .msp file.

2. Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary location.
3. Double-click the extracted .msp file to load the WebLink 8.0.2 update wizard.

This hotfixed version of PdfExporter80.dll is also available as a standalone file for use with other version 8.0 client applications aside from WebLink that rely on PdfExporter80.

2. Replace your existing version of PdfExporter80.dll with the updated version included in the zip file. PdfExporter80.dll is located in the Windows Global Assembly Cache at "C:\Windows\assembly."

Note: User Account Control (UAC) can prevent you from manually replacing files in the Global Assembly Cache. If UAC is enabled on your Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 computer, you can either temporarily disable UAC to manually replace the necessary files, or use the provided patch file.
