An "Error 9177" Occurs When Creating/Registering a Repository Using Oracle.

Summary

When creating or registering a Laserfiche repository with an Oracle DBMS, you may receive the following error message:

    9177 - Encountered an error with the ODBC driver.

Resolution

This error can occur when the ODBC driver name is not properly specified. Make sure the name matches the name of the driver as it appears in the Drivers tab of the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box.

For example, the Oracle client driver name may be localized to match the language of Windows.

To view the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box

  1. Click Start and click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Administrative Tools.
  3. Double-click Data Sources (ODBC).
  4. Select the Drivers tab.
