Summary

This article details hotfix 1012606 for Laserfiche 8.1.2. The fix updates both Server and Client components. The server patch file updates the following files:

The Laserfiche Server hotfix resolves the following issues:

  • Laserfiche Server no longer incorrectly detects that another instance of the Laserfiche Server with a conflicting serial number was found on the network. (58296)
  • Laserfiche now properly records entries in the activity log table when using Oracle 9. (58248)
  • Laserfiche no longer records an extraneous "Folder not empty (9061)" entry in the audit log when a user successfully deletes a folder that contains items. (58039)
  • Laserfiche now properly registers the lfshlp component on Windows Server 2008 R2. (58037)
  • When the Laserfiche Server service starts running, it can perform maintenance actions on the SQL database, such as run a query that clears out temporary tables. This query may block the Laserfiche Server and client programs will receive a "No response received from the server. [780]" error message when trying to access a repository. This operation is now better optimized and the query no longer blocks the Server. (57724)
  • Laserfiche no longer returns an error 9008 when deleting a folder when using Oracle 9. (57641)
  • Laserfiche now only records a single View Document event when a user opens a document from the Laserfiche Client. (50396)

The Laserfiche Client hotfix resolves the following issues:

  • Renaming a document from the Document Viewer now correctly prompts for a new name if you specify a name that is already in use. (58618, 54684)
  • The Send to Laserfiche option now properly supports Microsoft Office XP when you attempt to send a document without first saving the file. (58607)
  • Laserfiche now correctly prints sticky notes. (58393)
  • The Send to Laserfiche option now properly supports Microsoft Office 2007 when Office is configured to save documents in a legacy file format (e.g., Microsoft Office Word 2007 is set to save files using the "Word 97-2003" format). (58174)
  • Laserfiche now correctly uses a compressed image format when exporting color images and no longer creates PDF files with unexpectedly large file sizes. (58615, 58275)
  • Laserfiche Scanning no longer relies on LFSO80 when validating field constraints. (57942)

  1. Stop the Laserfiche Server service.
  2. Click one of the following links to download either the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of the Laserfiche Server hotfix.

  4. Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary location and double-click the appropriate .msp file to update the Laserfiche Server.
  5. Restart the Laserfiche Server service.
