This article details hotfix 1012596 for Workflow 8.0.1, which resolves the following issues:
- Invalid characters (e.g., \ / : * ? " < > |) in a workflow's name no longer prevents the workflow from sending an e-mail. Note that, regardless of the whether or not this hotfix has been applied, using these character's in a workflow's name prevents you from exporting it out of the Workflow Designer. (57693)
- In previous versions of Workflow, when populating a field that already contained data, Workflow could retain the existing data and append new data to it. For example, if a field value equaled "Test 1," Workflow could change the field value to "Test 1 - Test 2." This hotfix resolves a known issue with Workflow 8.0.1 where the workflow enters an infinite loop when trying to perform this action. (57679).
- When configuring Workflow to send an e-mail, you can attach all or some of the contents of a specific Laserfiche folder. In Workflow 8.0.1, when configuring the e-mail in the Workflow Designer, if you selected Only include Electronic documents and Include electronic file, any electronic documents (e.g., .pdf, .doc, .xls) found in the folder would not be attached (this issue only applied when attaching folder contents and applied to the E-mail, Route Entry to Folder, Route Entry to Group, and Route Entry to User activities). This hotfix resolves this issue. (57633)
- When assigning Workflow security to trustees in the Workflow Administration console, selecting Set All to assign the trustee all general permissions removes your ability to set access rights on individual workflows. Selecting Clear All to remove all previously assigned general permissions should re-grant you the ability to set access rights on individual workflows, but, due to a known issue, did not (the behavior is slightly different depending on the type of DBMS you are using). This hotfix resolves this issue. (56610)
- The Workflow Designer's Find Activity feature will no longer report errors related to displaying a workflow after selecting one of its search results. (56978)
- If a workflow contains a scripting activity that generates Workflow tokens, the tokens should be available to select from any other activity's token button drop-down list. In Workflow 8.0.1, the tokens would be available before publishing and closing the workflow, but would not be available after closing, downloading, and re-opening the workflow. This hotfix resolves this issue. (57134)

Important: Ensure your Workflow components are on version 8.0.1 before applying this patch.
To update Workflow 8.0.1
- Click one of the following links to download the appropriate hotfix for the Workflow Server:
- 32-bit Workflow Server machines: WorkflowServerx86 - May Rollup.zip
- 64-bit Workflow Server machines: WorkflowServerx64 - May Rollup.zip
- Click one of the following links to download the appropriate hotfix for the Workflow Designer:
- 32-bit Workflow Designer machines: WorkflowDesignerx86 - May Rollup.zip
- 64-bit Workflow Designer machines: WorkflowDesignerx64 - May Rollup.zip
- Inside each .zip is a single .exe file, which should be unzipped to a temporary location. If necessary, transfer the appropriate .exe file(s) to the correct machines (e.g., move the Server .exe to the Workflow Server machine and the Designer .exe to all of the Designer machines).
- On all of the relevant machines, double-click the appropriate .exe and click Update to start the hotfix. Ensure you hotfix the Workflow Server plus ALL installations of the Workflow Designer.
Note: Regardless of whether the Workflow Server and Designer are on the same machine, apply both hotfixes to the machine.
