Summary

When installing Laserfiche Plus 8.1, you may receive the following error message:

This version of Laserfiche Plus requires the Laserfiche Client version 8.0.2 or greater. Setup cannot continue.

This issue can occur even though Laserfiche Client 8 is already installed if you decided to install Laserfiche Client 7.

Cause

The Plus installation package checks a registry value for the current version of the Laserfiche Client installed on the computer. If you install Laserfiche Client 7 after installing Laserfiche Client 8, the Laserfiche Client 7 installation package will overwrite the registry value with 7.x.

Resolution

Use the Windows Add and Remove Programs feature to repair the Laserfiche Client 8 installation.
