Summary

This article details hotfix 1012517 for Laserfiche Server 8.1.1. The fix includes the following files:

  • LFFTS.exe (version 8.1.1.641)
  • TextProvider (version 8.1.1.641)

Important: This hotfix applies to Laserfiche Server 8.1.1 only. Verify that Laserfiche Server 8.1.1 is installed before applying the hotfix.

Important: LFFTS.exe (version 8.1.1.641) includes changes made in a previous Laserfiche Search Engine hotfix that relies on updated versions of other Laserfiche Search Engine files. If you wish to directly update the 8.1.1 release version of LFFTS.exe to version 8.1.1.641, you must also update FTSKernel.dll, LFFTSUtility.dll, and QRcmd.exe with the versions included in Knowledge Base article 1012385.

LFFTS.exe (version 8.1.1.641) resolves the following issue:

  • The Search Engine now properly indexes documents that contain both text pages and an associated electronic file. Previously, mismatching entries in the index could cause the Laserfiche Client to display the following errors when retrieving context hits for a selected search result: (48500)
  • Catastrophic Failure 6000

    Unable to obtain the context hit [9143]

TextProvider.exe (version 8.1.1.641) resolves the following issue:

  • TextProvider now supports an additional timeout limit when using an IFilter to process an electronic document. A new registry value named "TotalWaitTime" now acts in conjunction with the "WaitTime" value introduced with the TextProvider.exe hotfix included in Knowledge Base article 1012429. (55081)

Resolution

To update Laserfiche Server 8.1.1

  1. Stop the Laserfiche Full-Text Indexing and Search Service.
  2. Click one of the following links to download either the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of the hotfix files.
  3. KB1012517_win32.zip

    KB1012517_x64.zip

  4. Replace your existing version of LfFTS.exe and TextProvider with the updated versions included in the zip file. By default, the files are located in "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Server."
  5. Create one of the following registry keys:
    • For 32-bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Laserfiche\TextProvider
    • For 64-bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Laserfiche\TextProvider
  6. Under the appropriate key, create a new DWORD value named:
  7. TotalWaitTime

  8. Set the value to the number of seconds TextProvider will wait before timing out while processing an electronic document.
  9. Start the Laserfiche full-Text Indexing and Search Service.
  10. Reindex your repository.
