Summary

This article details hotfix 1012514. This hotfix includes shared files that affect several Laserfiche client programs. The fix includes the following files:

• PDFExporter81.dll (8.1.1.641)
• DocumentProcessor81.dll (8.1.1.641)

PdfExporter81.dll (version 8.1.1.641) resolves the following issue:

• PdfExporter no longer automatically converts black & white images to grayscale. This results in smaller file sizes for exported PDF files. This fix affects both Laserfiche Client 8.1.1 and Web Access 8.1. (56333)

Note: This change only takes effect in Laserfiche Client 8.1.1 when the "Convert annotations into PDF annotations" option is enabled in the Options dialog box under the Export section.

DocumentProcessor81.dll (version 8.1.1.641) resolves the following issue:

• DocumentProcessor no longer automatically converts black & white images to grayscale or color when exporting a document with watermarks. This results in smaller file sizes for exported documents that contain watermarks. (55052)

Resolution

To update Laserfiche 8.1.1 or Web Access 8.1

1. Click the following link to download zip file containing the hotfix files.

2. Replace your existing version of DocumentProcessor81.dll with the updated versions included in the zip file. By default, the file is in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\LFObjects." On a 64-bit version of Windows, the 32-bit libraries are located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Laserfiche\LFObjects."
3. Drag and drop the updated version of PdfExporter81.dll into the Windows Global Assembly Cache at "C:\WINDOWS\assembly."

Note: User Account Control (UAC) prevents you from manually replacing files in the Global Assembly Cache. If UAC is enabled on your Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, or Windows 7 computer, you must first disable UAC to replace the dll. After replacing the file, re-enable UAC.
