Release Notes for Workflow 8.0.1.

August 22, 2011 | KB: 1012510
Workflow Suite 8.0.1

Summary

This article documents the known issues with Laserfiche Workflow 8.0.1.

Known Issues

  • A starting rule condition of "a multiple-value field is not empty" always returns true. As a workaround, instead of using the "is not empty" option to check the multiple-value field, set the condition on the field to "matches regular expression" and use:

    .+

    (61932)
  • Workflow may not properly replace a field value token when the field name contain a comma. (56838)
  • Workflow Designer 8.0.1 may not properly load version 8.0.0 .wfx workflow files with an activity that contains a condition on a date/time field. When loading such a workflow file, the Designer does not display the affected activities. Workflow 8.0.1 expects time values in the .wfx file to be in a 24-hour format while Workflow 8.0.0 saved them in 12-hour format. As a workaround, use a text editor to open the affected .wfx file. Search for <condition> elements that contain a <property> sub-element where the <value> for the field condition has a time value in hh:mm:ss a.m or hh:mm:ss p.m format. Manually edit the time string by deleting the a.m or p.m suffix and converting the hh value to 24-hour format. (56863)
  • The Workflow 8.0.1 installation packages cannot automatically upgrade an existing 32-bit component of Workflow 8.0.0 to the corresponding 64-bit component of Workflow 8.0.1. Uninstall the 32-bit version of Workflow 8.0 before installing the 64-bit version of Workflow 8.0.1.
  • The script editor in the Workflow Designer may not properly load when using a 64-bit version of Windows Server 2008 and UAC is enabled. (56604)
  • The 64-bit version of the Workflow Subscriber 8.0.1 installation may not properly upgrade an existing installation of the 64-bit version of Workflow Subscriber 8.0. Please uninstall Workflow Subscriber 8.0 before running the Workflow Subscriber 8.0.1 installation. If you have already tried running the 64-bit Subscriber 8.0.1 installation over your existing 64-bit Subscriber 8.0 installation and the update was not successful, do the following: (56566)
    1. Restart the computer.
    2. Uninstall all Workflow components.
    3. Manually delete the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Laserfiche Workflow Subscriber" registry key.
    4. Manually delete the Workflow installation folder. By default, Workflow components are installed in "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Workflow."
  • If you are using Windows Server 2008 R2, you must enable the .NET Framework 3.5.1 Features option from the Add Features Wizard in the Server Manager prior to installing Laserfiche Workflow. (54150)
  • When you configure the Workflow Subscriber to Log rule reports and you have a large number of starting rules, the Workflow Subscriber service can consume a large amount of memory. (51436)
  • When your Windows security policy has "System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing" enabled, Workflow will be unable to access the Laserfiche Server. (52246)
  • In certain situations, the Workflow Server may lose track of a running workflow if the service crashes. (54642)
  • The E-mail activity does not support tokens that use the ; or , characters for formatting. (56220)
  • The New -> From existing template -> Name of Workflow Template menu option does not function if you first click on From existing template. (56243)
  • When validating that an activity is not missing required settings, Workflow does not take into account disabled activities that may affect the activity. (56288)
  • The Workflow Designer may hang for 20 seconds if the Workflow Server is shut down while the Designer is connected and you open an e-mail activity. (55476)
  • The Route to Group activity does not route documents to groups that contain both Windows users and Laserfiche users. To resolve this issue, associate the Windows users with Laserfiche accounts or route to a group that only contains one type of user. (35266)
  • The Route to User activity allows you to route documents to users without working folders. These users will not actually receive routed documents until you assign them a working folder.
  • The Workflow Subscriber Tray incorrectly reports the setting of a template in a Laserfiche repository as Unset Template Field Value. This error is cosmetic only and will not affect performance. (35952)
  • At certain zoom settings, the Workflow Designer's Print Preview feature may generate more page previews and use more system resources than necessary. To resolve this issue, quit the Workflow Designer and change Print Preview's zoom value. (31279)
  • You may receive an unhandled exception error when clicking from another application directly onto a Workflow 8 activity in the Designer Pane. To resolve this issue, restart the Workflow Designer. (37381)
  • The Workflow Designer may display irregularly on high-contrast black Windows themes. (30981)
  • The %(Parent) token is not listed in the Workflow Designer's token drop-down box. To use this token, manually enter it. (31263)
  • Workflow 8.0.1 did not allow you to configure the server to send e-mails via an authenticated SMTP e-mail server. (56742)
  • If the Workflow Server was restarted, any active workflows that were not in the "waiting" state would never complete. (56948)
  • Time and date information entered into the Deadline activity's "Timeout At" configuration box was not saved in a manner that took into account the Workflow Server's timezone. This may have caused a Deadline branch to become active or inactive at the wrong time. (57217)
  • Trying to assign a template using the Route to Folder activity resulted in a "required field" error, even if the field contained data. (57155)
  • HTML in Workflow e-mails were sent as plain text. (57026)
  • 1012548 The Laserfiche Workflow 8.0.1 Server Service May Not Start If You Chose To Display The Installation Wizard in a Non-English Language. (57231)
  • 1012596 When configuring Workflow to send an e-mail, you can attach all or some of the contents of a specific Laserfiche folder. When configuring the e-mail in the Workflow Designer, if you select Only include Electronic documents and Include electronic file, any electronic documents (e.g., .pdf, .doc, .xls) found in the folder will not be attached. This issue only applies when attaching folder contents. In addition, it applies to the E-mail, Route Entry to Folder, Route Entry to Group, and Route Entry to User activities, all of which have the ability to send an e-mail with an attachment. (57633)
  • 1012596 In previous versions of Workflow, when populating a field that already contained data, Workflow could retain the existing data and append new data to it. For example, if a field value equaled "Test 1," Workflow could change the field value to "Test 1 - Test 2." There is a known issue with Workflow 8.0.1 where the workflow enters an infinite loop when trying to perform this action. In some cases, depending on your operating system and DBMS type, the Workflow Server may stop running. If you encounter this issue, stop the Workflow Server (if it is still running) and restart it. Even though the workflow instance will no longer be looping, its status will be Running. To manually change the status, see KB 1012103. Depending on the number of other workflows that were running when you stoped and restarted the Workflow Server, you may need to modify a series of workflow statuses. (57679)
  • A published workflow cannot be exported if it contains any of the following characters in its name: \ / : * ? " < > |. (57693)
  • 1012596 A workflow cannot send an e-mail if any of the following characters are in the workflow's name: \ / : * ? " < > |. (57693)
  • The Workflow Subscriber Tray does not automatically check for and display new data. As a work-around, select Refresh Now under View in the Workflow Subscriber Tray's menu bar to manually refresh the utility. (57798)
