Summary

This article details hotfix 1012496 for Laserfiche Web Access 8.1. This patch resolves the following issues:

• Certain large documents open slower in Web Access 8.1 than in Web Access 8.0.1 (54128)
• When using a URL that links directly to a document, Web Access now loads the document viewer first. (53997)
• Having read-only rights on an independent field no longer prevents you from changing the template assigned to an entry. (53764)
• The ability to create a new document from a thumbnail is no longer dependent on access rights for the parent folder of the current document. This action now checks for whether you can remove pages from the document. (54321)
• In the document viewer, selecting a thumbnail no longer changes the title of the thumbnail pane to the name of the repository and no longer displays the metadata button. (54320)
• You can now use the [WEBACCESSLIGHT]MaxListItems user attribute to configure the display limit for list field items in Web Access Light. Set the value to the maximum number of items in a list field that you want to display in Web Access Light. By default, this hotfixed version of Web Access Light will not limit the number of displayed list field items. (54797)
• Web Access Light now correctly saves changes to metadata when there is a list field that contains more items than the list field display limit. (54796)
• Date/Time field values now properly display when using the Italian Language Pack. (54926)
• Web Access Light now correctly saves changes to metadata when you add an independent list field when there is already an independent list field assigned to the entry. (54977)
• Web Access now correctly handles search URLs where the search query contains encoded blank spaces. (54686)
• Web Access now correctly logs an Export and Print audit event when you send a document as an e-mail message. (55722)
• Web Access now correctly logs an Export and Print audit event when you export a document and no audit reasons are configured. (55752)
• Attempting to drag-and-drop an entry into a folder in the folder tree no longer incorrectly prevents you from dropping the entry into the first folder you hover over. (56004)
• Web Access Light now correctly redisplays the page image after you save metadata changes and click the View Image link. (55900)

Important: The version of this hotfix released on February 1, 2010 included version 8.1.0.281 of WebAccessCommon.dll and WebAccess.dll. Version 8.1.0.281 introduced an issue where changes to metadata were not displayed until the user manually refreshed the page. The download package was updated on February 3, 2010 with version 8.1.0.288 of WebAccessCommon.dll and WebAccess.dll to resolve this issue. If you installed the 8.1.0.281 version of the hotfix, re-download the hotfix and reapply the patch file.

To update Web Access 8.1

1. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the .msp file.

LFWA1012496.zip

2. Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary location.
3. Double-click the extracted "LFWA101496.msp" to load the Web Access 8.1 update wizard.
