Laserfiche Scanning 8 May Not Properly Delete Certain Temporary Files When Configured with a Rotate Process.

Summary

When scanning documents, Laserfiche Scanning 8 creates temporary files. After storing the document in your Laserfiche repository, Laserfiche Scanning automatically deletes the temporary files. However, when Laserfiche Scanning 8 has a rotate process configured to rotate images automatically, the scanning process may not properly delete the temporary files. By default, these temporary files are located in "C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Temp\Laserfiche Scanning."

Resolution

There is a hotfix available for Laserfiche Scanning 8.1.1. The fix is an updated version of BPOmniOCR81.exe (version 8.1.1.625).

To update Laserfiche Scanning 8.1.1

  1. Close any open instances of the Laserfiche Client and make sure that BPOmniOCR81.exe is not running in the Windows Task Manager.
  2. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the hotfix.
  3. Hotfix_SCR54141.zip

  4. Replace your existing version of BPOmniOCR81.exe with the updated version included in the zip file. For a 32-bit version of Windows, the file is located in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\Batch Processor\BPOmniOCR16." On a 64-bit version of Windows, the file is located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Laserfiche\Batch Processor\BPOmniOCR16."
