Summary
Immediately restarting the computer hosting Laserfiche Server after upgrading may interrupt the upgrade process.
More Information
During the upgrade process, the installation wizard starts the newly-upgraded Laserfiche Server service. When the new service starts up, it automatically runs schema updates on existing repositories. These schema updates run in the background independently of the status displayed in the installation wizard. Restarting the machine right after the installation wizard finishes can potentially interrupt the schema update and result in a database that is only partially upgraded.
You can use the Windows Event Viewer to check whether the schema update process is complete. The Event Log will write an entry with Event ID 10163 when the schema update process begins. When the update process finishes, the Event Log will write an entry with Event ID 10164. Both event log entries will contain version information on the schema update.
