This article details hotfix 1012382 for Laserfiche Web Access 8.0.1. This patch resolves the following issues:

• When using a URL to directly open a document, you may receive the following error if the user is denied the Browse entry access right on the document's parent folder:

  Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'LFSO80Lib.LFFolder'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{ED4816DF-FF5B-42BA-B6B4-F48385A52F0F}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE))

• When browsing the folder structure, the breadcrumb may not display the full path. This issue is now resolved. (53944)

The fix is a self-contained Windows Installer patch file (LFWA1012382.msp) that updates the necessary files. The patch file updates the following files:

• WebAccessCommon.dll (8.0.1.719)
• GetExportFile.aspx (last modified on August 5, 2009)
• StreamingFileExport.aspx (last modified on August 5, 2009)

To update Web Access 8.0.1

1. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the .msp file.

LFWA1012382.zip

2. Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary location.
3. Double-click the extracted "LFWA1012382.msp" to load the Web Access 8.0.1 update wizard.
