Summary

This article details hotfix 1012381 for Laserfiche Web Access 8.1. This patch resolves the following issues:

  • When using a URL to directly open a document, you may receive the following error if the user is denied the Browse entry access right on the document's parent folder:

      Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'LFSO81Lib.LFFolder'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{BD0F5C39-AB37-42B4-A269-EF0F87C66FBB}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE))

    This issue is now resolved. (53895)
  • When browsing the folder structure, the breadcrumb may not display the full path. This issue is now resolved. (53944)
  • Web Access 8.1 only supports cookie authentication when the Laserfiche Server is listening on port 80 or port 5050. This issue is now resolved and cookie authentication will correctly function when the Laserfiche Server is listening on a non-default port.(53802)

The fix is a self-contained Windows Installer patch file (LFWA1012381.msp) that updates the necessary files. The patch file updates the following files:

  • wa80.js (last modified on November 12, 2009)
  • WebAccess.dll (8.1.0.171)
  • WebAccessCommon.dll (8.1.0.171)

To update Web Access 8.1

  1. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the .msp file.

    2. LFWA1012381.zip

  2. Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary location.
  3. Double-click the extracted "LFWA1012381.msp" to load the Web Access 8.1 update wizard.
