Web Access 8.1

Summary

This article documents the list of known issues with Laserfiche Web Access 8.1.

More Information

See the following list of known issues for version 8.1.

  • Rectangle annotations and text box annotations share the same default color setting. (56490)
  • When assigning an informational or security tag to a document, you cannot specify a tag comment that states, "CONFLICTED" in all capital letters. (52726)
  • The document viewer may not properly resize tiles for low bit-depth images. As a workaround, you can enable the Web Access watermark. (52346, 53270)
  • 1012029 The Web Access Shortcuts in the Windows Start Menu May Not Function if Web Access is not Installed on Port 80. (40114)
  • The preview pane may not be able to display the thumbnail preview for a Unicode document if the appropriate character set is not installed on the web server. (41746)
  • You may be unable to launch Web Scanning in Basic Mode in Spanish. Clear your user attributes and Web Access configuration files. (42987)
  • Closing your web browser does not automatically release a connection. You must explicitly use the "log out" option or wait until your session times out. (40451)
  • Internet Explorer may contain memory leaks that can impact performance. Please see the following Microsoft Knowledge Base for more information.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947864
  • You may be unable to search for Windows accounts or add Windows accounts when configuring security through the Entry Access dialog box if Kerberos is not enabled and correctly configured. (39788)
  • When you download a file in Internet Explorer 7, the space character in the file name is changed to a underscore. This is an Internet Explorer 7 issue. Please see the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article for more information.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952730
  • Due to image caching, changes to security that occur while you are currently logged in may not prevent you from viewing documents you have previously viewed during the session. For example, open a document. Then disable the volume that contains the document. You may still be able to view the image pages of the document. (38959)
  • Dialog boxes may take a long time to load the first time you load it in an IIS application session. (38931)
  • Firefox may not read Windows regional settings. This may cause issues with date and time display formats. Please use a region-specific version of Firefox. (38773)
  • When Web Access is hosted on a Windows XP computer, you may be unable to download documents over 1 GB. (50690)
  • Internet Explorer 6 cannot download documents over 4 GB. (50690)
  • An "HttpException (0x80004005): Request timed out" error occurs when attempting to e-mail a large document in Web Access 8, as either a URL link, file, or zip. (59874)
  • Web Access does not support repository names that contain non-English characters. When logging in to the repository, you may receive a "Invalid Object Name" error message. (59952)

Known Issues for Web Access Light

  • The file size download limit on a BlackBerry can prevent you from viewing large images. (41980)
  • By default, the folder browser displays three columns: number of pages, last modification date, and electronic file size). The search results page have the same three columns along with the number of hits. (43046)

Known Issues with the Records Center

  • In certain situations, the Records Center Integration may not automatically assign a specified template to documents sent to Laserfiche. (52074)
  • The integration only supports the "debug" and "none" event logging levels. The configuration page allows you to select other logging levels, but the integration does not currently support reporting those event levels. (40654)

Known Issues with the Search Protocol Handler

  • You may receive an unhandled exception when creating a content source with no name. (43133)
  • The search configuration utility may not properly display the incremental crawl schedule if you close and reopen the utility. This is a display issue only. The schedule is properly saved. (42994)
  • The search results for a document name search may display the same document multiple times. (40543)

Known Issues with the Laserfiche Repository Access Web Part

  • The Web Part may be unable to display the contents of a folder if the folder contains shortcuts. This issue can occur in configurations where the Laserfiche Server and the SharePoint Server are installed on different computers. (51625)
  • After upgrading from Web Access 8.0.0 to 8.0.1, the Web Part will display a link allowing you to download the 8.0.1 version of Web Scanning. However, the link will remain displayed even after you download and install the new version of Web Scanning. (43202)
  • Document icons in the folder browser may appear slightly cut off when using Internet Explorer 7. (39469)
