The Laserfiche Dongle Diagnostic Utility is a command-line utility that can detect possible dongle issues prior to installing and starting the Laserfiche Server.

The Dongle Diagnostic Utility simulates whether the Laserfiche Server will be able to successfully read dongle information from an installed dongle.

Note: You must have the dongle driver installed before running the utility.

To use the diagnostic utility

1. Make sure the dongle is connected to the computer.
2. Click the following link to download a zip file with the utility.

3. Extract the contents of the zip file (LFDongleDiag.exe) to a temporary location.
4. From a command prompt, run the utility.

The utility performs the following actions:

• Attempts to detect the presence of a dongle.
• If a dongle is detected, the utility will display the Product ID embedded in the dongle.

If the utility successfully displays expected results, then the dongle is successfully installed and valid.
