New Features for License Manager 8.1
- You can now create subscriptions that periodically check your Active Directory server for changes. License Manager can automatically add or remove named users and devices based on changes in your Active Directory.
- License Manager now supports new features introduced in Laserfiche Server 8.1, e.g., LDAP user support and Laserfiche named user support.
- License Manager now contains a built-in option for backing up a license database. You do not need to stop the License Manager service. (48279)
- You can now add/register named users from multiple (trusted) domains. (47446)
- You now have the option to automatically generate a license when registering an application. (45907)
- When you register an application or device, License Manager now automatically looks up the hardware fingerprint/HostID if you specify a computer name. (48491)
- The License Manager Administration Console now contains localized resources for Arabic, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Chinese - Traditional, and Chinese - Simplified.
- Generating a Laserfiche Client license now automatically includes the Snapshot license if applicable. (41085)
- The "Registered Application Instances" node in the License Manager Administration Console now provides a list of registered applications. (41374)
- The Create Licensing Database dialog box now also includes options for directly importing the primary license. (41435)
- Detaching a license database or uninstalling License Manager will now automatically deactivate your License Manager activation key.
- Integrators can now use License Manager Objects (LMO) to create custom integrations to access a License Manager Server. LicenseManagerObjects.dll is the same .NET assembly used by the License Manager Administration Console to communicate with a License Manager Server.
Fixes for License Manager 8.1
- License Manager no longer displays an "Error 109: The pipe has been ended" error message when you stop the License Manager service. (40775)
- The "Registered Application Instances" node now automatically refreshes when a new primary license is imported into the license database. (41428)
