Summary

When you attempt to generate searchable text in Laserfiche 8.1, the Generate Searchable Text dialog box appears disabled and you cannot select the OCR / Extract Text check box. This issue can occur even if you have the appropriate rights to generate searchable text for that document.

Resolution 1

This issue is resolved in Laserfiche 8.1.1 and later. Please upgrade to the latest version of Laserfiche.

Workaround 1

Do the following:

1. From the Tools menu, click Options to load the Options dialog box.
2. Select the OCR item on the left to display the OCR options.
3. Click OK to close the dialog box.

Workaround 2

Use the Laserfiche 8 Administration Console to clear the feature rights for the affected user. Then reassign the desired set of feature rights back to the account.
