Microsoft Office 2007 May Detect File Corruption When Editing An Agenda Manager 8 Item File Attachment.

Summary

When using Agenda Manager to edit a Microsoft Office 2007 file attachment directly off the Agenda Manager Server, Microsoft Office may display a warning message stating that the file is corrupt.

The warning message may look similar to the following samples:

    The Office Open XML file FileName cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents.
    The file is corrupt and cannot be opened.

    Word found unreadable content in "FileName". Do you want to recover the contents of this document? If you trust the source of this document, click Yes.

Cause

Agenda Manager may incorrectly append unnecessary information to a file when creating a temporary copy for you to edit. While the extraneous information has no adverse affect on the attachment, Microsoft Office 2007 detects the existence of the unnecessary information.

Resolution 1

This issue is resolved in Agenda Manager Server 8.0.1 or later. Please upgrade to the latest version of Agenda Manager Server.

Resolution 2

There is a hotfix available for Agenda Manager Server 8.0. The fix is an updated version of AMServer.exe (version 8.0.0.268).

To update Agenda Manager 8.0.

  1. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the updated version of AMServer.exe.
  2. Hotfix_SCR51169.zip

  3. Stop the Agenda Manager Service.
  4. Replace your existing version of AMServer.exe with the updated version included in the zip file. By default, AMServer.exe is located at "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Agenda Manager Server."
  5. Restart the Agenda Manager Service.
