Summary

The Laserfiche Server Service will not start if there is a port conflict. When hosted on most editions of Microsoft Windows, Laserfiche Server defaults to using TCP port 80. When hosted on a 32-bit edition of Windows XP, Laserfiche Server uses TCP port 5050. You may receive the following error message:

HTTP server module (httpserv.dll) failed to load.

Resolution

Do one of the following:

  • Configure the Laserfiche Server to use a different port for HTTP client requests.
  • Configure the conflicting program to use a different port.
