Summary

When starting Laserfiche Scanning, you may receive the following error message:

    Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation

You may also receive a subsequent message similar to the following:

    UnauthorizedAccessException: Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID 252E025F-8840-4CC6-8957-695C05854610} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 80070005

Resolution

Modify DCOM settings for the computer such that the Default Impersonation Level is set to Identify.

To set Default Impersonation Level

  1. Click Start and then click Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type the following and then click OK to load the Component Services management console.
  3. dcomcnfg

  4. Expand Console Root.
  5. Expand Component Services.
  6. Expand Computers.
  7. Select My Computer.
  8. From the Action menu, click Properties.
  9. Click the Default Properties tab.
  10. Set the Default Impersonation Level drop-down list to "Identify."
  11. Click OK to save your changes.
