Summary

When opening an electronic document from the search results, WebLink does not follow the "View Document Options" setting on the My WebLink page. WebLink always loads the Document Viewer.

Resolution 1

This issue is resolved in WebLink 8.0.1 and later. Please upgrade to the latest version of WebLink.

Resolution 2

There is a hotfix available for WebLink 8.0. The fix includes updated versions of the following files:

• WebLinkDesigner.exe (version 8.0.0.332)
• WebLinkControls.dll (version 8.0.0.332)
• WebLink8.dll (version 8.0.0.332)
• SearchResults.xsl (last modified on July 7, 2009)

WebLink now correctly defaults to using the setting on the My WebLink page.

To update WebLink 8.0

1. Click the following link to download a zip file with the updated files:

Hotfix_SCR48677.zip

2. Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary location.
3. Place the updated WebLinkControls.dll and WebLink8.dll in the bin subfolder of the Web Files folder in your WebLink 8 installation folder. By default, the path is "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\WebLink 8\Web Files\bin."
4. Place the updated SearchResults.xsl in the xsl subfolder of the Web Files folder in your WebLink 8 installation folder. By default, the path is "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\WebLink 8\Web Files\xsl."
5. Place the updated WebLinkDesigner.exe in your WebLink 8 installation folder. By default, the path is "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\WebLink 8."

Important: Replacing SearchResults.xsl will overwrite any previous customizations you made using the WebLink Designer's Search Results tab.
