An "OLE Error." Error Occurs When Starting Snapshot 8.1.

Summary

When you load Snapshot, you may receive the following error message:

    OLE Error.

This error only occurs when you install Laserfiche Client 8.1 using an Avante license file.

Resolution 1

This issue is resolved in Laserfiche 8.1.1 and later. Please upgrade to the latest version of Laserfiche.

Resolution 2

There is a hotfix available for Laserfiche Snapshot 8.1. The fix is an updated version of snapshot80.exe (version 8.1.0.430).

To update Snapshot 8.1

  1. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the hotfix file.
  2. Hotfix_SCR48633.zip

  3. Replace your existing version of snapshot80.exe with the updated version. By default, snapshot80.exe is located at "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Client 8\Snapshot 8."
