This article details the updated Laserfiche Client 8.1 installation package currently available on the Laserfiche Support Site. The updated installation package resolves several issues related to Laserfiche Scanning 8.1 that were discovered during the initial release of Laserfiche 8.1.
The updated installation includes the following updated files:
- LFScan.exe (version 8.1.0.430)
- OmniOCRWrapper81.dll (version 8.1.0.430)
- Laserfiche.Base.dll (assembly version 1.0.1.0, file version 1.0.2.0)
- LFScan.exe.config
Note: If you downloaded Laserfiche Client 8.1 after June 3, 2009, your installation already includes the following fixes.
The updated installation Laserfiche Client 8.1 installation package includes the following fixes:
- You no longer receive a "Cannot Find File" error message when scanning in color with certain scanners. As an internal enhancement, Laserfiche Scanning 8.1 stores color images in TIFF LZW format. However, older versions of ScanConnect did not automatically include a needed file for processing TIFF LZW images. The needed file came bundled with certain updated scanner drivers, which prevents this issue from occurring with all scanners. The Laserfiche Scanning installation now also includes the needed file.

You no longer receive a "Specified cast is not valid" error message or an "Exception from HRESULT: 0xC0000005" error message when starting Laserfiche Scanning. The installation process now properly registers a needed dll file.
- Laserfiche Scanning no longer skips enhancements and processes that come after a Rotate enhancement configured to rotate automatically.
- Installing Laserfiche Scanning 8.1 no longer prevents you from using the Workflow Designer. For more information, see the following Knowledge Base article:
