Summary

When configuring the properties for the Laserfiche Capture Engine, on the Filter tab, the location and name drop-down lists may not display recently used filters on Windows Vista when UAC is enabled.

Cause

Quick Fields saves the list of recently used filters in the Windows Registry. By default, the Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC) feature prevents you from writing to the Registry.

Resolution

Unlock the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Capture Engine" registry key.

To unlock the Laserfiche Capture Engine registry key

1. Click Start.
2. In the Search box, type the following:

   cmd

3. The Programs list should display one item, cmd.exe. Right-click on cmd.exe and select Run as administrator.
4. In the command prompt, type the following and press ENTER to unlock the specified registry key:

   REG FLAGS "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Capture Engine" SET DONT_VIRTUALIZE DONT_SILENT_FAIL RECURSE_FLAG
