Summary

When Quick Fields is installed on a 64-bit edition of Microsoft Windows, Real-time Lookup may be unable to connect to your Oracle database.

Cause

This error can occur when the installation path contains parentheses. By default, Quick Fields is installed at "C:\Program files (x86)\Laserfiche\Quick Fields."

Workaround

Download and install an Oracle patch set that contains a fix for Oracle bug 3807408.

If a patch is not available for your version of the 32-bit Windows Oracle Client, uninstall and reinstall Quick Fields to a location without any parentheses.
