Audit Trail 8.0

Summary

When you load the Audit Trail 8.0 Reporting page, you may receive the following error message:

You do not have permission to run reports on any audit data.

You receive this error even though you have added an appropriate user or group account on the Audit Trail 8.0 Configuration Website's Permissions tab.

Cause

In certain situations, Audit Trail may not properly recognize the domain name for a trustee. If you receive a "You do not have permission to run reports on any audit data" error even though you are allowed in the Audit Trail 8.0 Configuration page, you may need to manually modify the "Config.xml" file.

Workaround 1

Modify the Config.xml file located in the Audit Trail 8 installation folder. By default, the path is "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Audit Trail 8."

To modify the Config.xml file

  1. Using a text editor, open Config.xml.
  2. Locate the <UserPermissions> section.
  3. Within that section, look for a line that starts with:

    <Trustee DomainName="Value"

  4. Modify Value so that it is the full domain name.
  5. Save your changes to Config.xml.
  6. Restart the Laserfiche Audit Trail Reporting service.

Workaround 2

Repair the current installation of Audit Trail Reporting.
