Summary

You may be unable to properly add text box annotations in Web Access 8.0.1. You may receive the following error message when adding a text box annotation:

Arg: Illegal input string in Vector2D

In addition, you cannot save empty text box annotations. Attempting to save changes to a page that contains a text box annotation with no text will result in Web Access repeatedly prompting you to save your changes.

Resolution

There is a hotfix available for Web Access 8.0.1. The fix is an updated version of wa80.js (last modified on December 10, 2008).

To update Web Access 8.0.1

1. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the updated version of wa80.js.
   Hotfix_SCR43723_43724.zip
2. Replace your existing version of wa80.js with the updated version included in the zip file. By default, the file is located "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Web Access 8\Web Files\js-src\comp."
3. Restart the World Wide Web Publishing service.
