Laserfiche 8, Scanning 8, ScanConnect 8

Summary

When using Laserfiche ScanConnect as your scan engine, the paper size drop-down list in Laserfiche Scanning may not display all paper size options available for your scanner.

Resolution 1

This issue is resolved in Laserfiche 8.0.2 and later. Please upgrade to the latest version of Laserfiche.

Resolution 2

There is a hotfix available for Laserfiche Scanning 8.0.1. The fix includes updated versions of the following files:

  • Laserfiche.BatchProcessor.dll (version 8.0.1.756)
  • Laserfiche.BatchProcessor.Processes.dll (version 8.0.1.756)
  • ScanConnect.exe (version 8.0.1.756)

You have two options for downloading the hotfix files. You can download an .exe file that, when run, will automatically replace the three files. You also have the option of downloading a zip file that directly contains updated versions of the above files.

Perform one of the following procedures.

To update Laserfiche Scanning 8.0.1

  1. Close any open instances of Laserfiche Scanning.
  2. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the automated patch.

    Hotfix_SCR41285_Patch.zip

  3. Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary location.
  4. Double-click "Scanning 8.01 Hotfix.exe" to install the hotfix.

To manually update Laserfiche Scanning 8.0.1

  1. Close any open instances of Laserfiche Scanning.
  2. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the hotfix files.

    Hotfix_SCR41285.zip

  3. Replace your existing version of ScanConnect.exe with the updated version in the zip file. By default, ScanConnect.exe is located at "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\Batch Processor."
  4. Replace your existing versions of Laserfiche.BatchProcessor.dll and Laserfiche.BatchProcessor.Processes.dll with the updated versions included in the zip file. These two dlls are installed to the Windows Global Assembly Cache at "C:\WINDOWS\assembly."

Reminder: Use drag and drop to manually replace files in the Global Assembly Cache.

Note: User Account Control (UAC) can prevent you from manually replacing files in the Global Assembly Cache. If UAC is enabled on your Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 computer, you can either temporarily disable UAC to manually replace the necessary files, or use the provided patch file.
