Summary
Laserfiche Workflow Suite 8 uses the following default ports: 8081-8084 and 8086. If another application uses the same port(s), the Workflow services may not start and/or the Workflow Designer may not correctly load.
If the Workflow Server service is unable to start due to a port conflict, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Service cannot be started. System.ServiceModel.AddressAlreadyInUseException: There is already a listener on IP endpoint IPAddress:8086.
If the Workflow Designer does not properly load due to a port conflict, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Could not connect to net.tcp://Server:8084/ManagementService. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:00.9062500. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it IPAddress:8084.
Update for Workflow 8.3
This issue no longer exists in Workflow 8.3. In Workflow 8.3, if the Workflow is running on non-standard port, you should specify the Workflow Server name as <MachineName:Port> whenever needed in the Workflow Designer, Workflow Administration Console, and Workflow Configuration Manager.
Resolution
Manually edit the following configuration files and replace all occurrences of the conflicting port with a different port.
You must modify all instances of the listed configuration files. For example, if you install the Workflow Designer on multiple computers, you must modify the listed configuration files on those computers.
