This article details Laserfiche 8.0.1.708. This updated release of Laserfiche 8.0.1 resolves several issues discovered in the initial Laserfiche 8.0.1 release.
Note: If you download Laserfiche 8.0.1 after 7/30/08, or you install the software using an installation CD, the contents of this update are already included with your installation.
Laserfiche 8.0.1.708 includes the following changes from Laserfiche 8.0.1.700.
- The Laserfiche 8 migration wizard is now available.
- The "Security" column in the folder browser now displays correctly in Oracle repositories. (40548)
- Laserfiche no longer incorrectly locks the FTSUSER$ user account if the search catalog creation process fails. (35378)
- The Laserfiche Server no longer crashes if you attempted to export a volume that with a missing VOLUME.ID file. (40552)
- Upgrading the Laserfiche Client from 8.0.0 to 8.0.1 no longer incorrectly uninstalls Snapshot. (40422)
- The Laserfiche Server installation now displays a warning to remove your dongle before proceeding with the installation process. (40268)
- You no longer incorrectly receive an error message when sorting by the "Security" column in the folder browser. (40452)
- Legacy (version 6 and 7) client applications no longer display an error when you attempt to link a text highlight or redaction to the image in a migrated repository. (40344)
- Localized versions of the Laserfiche Repository Creation Wizard no longer contain display issues. (39908)
- You can now log in to repositories with accents in their names. (40449)
- You no longer receive errors messages in the Windows Event Log about the "trustee_get_all_group_names" stored procedure. This requires a stored procedure fix in your SQL Server or Oracle database. (40437)
- You no longer receive an "Unknown internal error [9036]" error message when exporting a volume. This requires a stored procedure fix in your SQL Server database. (40515)
Upgrading from Laserfiche 8.0.1.700
You can run the Laserfiche 8.0.1.708 installation over your existing installation of Laserfiche 8.0.1.700. The installation process will handle upgrading any needed files.
However, the installation will not automatically update stored procedures on an existing 8.0.1.700 database. Click the following link to download a zip file containing two SQL scripts.

Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary location and perform one of the following:
- Microsoft SQL Server: Run the MSSQL.sql script on your database.
- Click Start and click Run.
- In the Run dialog box, type the following and click OK to run the script.
osql -S SQLInstance -E -d DatabaseName -i PathToMSSQL.sql
SQLInstance is the name of your SQL Server instance.
DatabaseName is the name of the SQL database associated with your Laserfiche repository.
PathToMSSQL.sql is the full path to where you extracted MSSQL.sql.
- Oracle: Run the Oracle.sql script on your database.
- Load a command prompt and browse to the extracted location of oracle.sql.
- Type the following to run the script.
sqlplus User@TNSName @oracle.sql
Reminder: You only need to manually run these SQL scripts if you are upgrading from 8.0.1.700. You do not need to run these scripts if you are upgrading from Laserfiche 7 or Laserfiche 8.0.0.
