The following list highlights some of the major new features in Web Access 8.0.0.

  • Web Access now supports features introduced in Laserfiche Server 8. Some highlights include:
    • Use the Document Viewer to add new types of annotations on an image (e.g. rectangles, lines, freehand drawing).
    • Access the Recycle Bin from Web Access.
    • Assign entry access rights to Windows accounts.
    • View sticky note history.
    • Modify independent fields.
  • You can now directly e-mail documents. You can choose to send an e-mail message with Web Access URL links to the selected documents, an e-mail message with attachments of all the selected documents, or an e-mail message with a zip file of the selected documents.
  • Web Access now supports more format options for exporting documents.
  • The folder browser now includes a preview pane. The preview pane has two modes. You can choose to view a thumbnail of the first page of the document along with document properties like the last modified date or the number of pages in the document. You can also choose to view the thumbnails of all the pages in the document.
  • The URL to a folder or document is directly displayed in the address bar of the web browser.
  • The folder browser includes a quick search field where you can quickly specify a search.
  • The document viewer quick search allows you to perform a word search within the current document.
  • When exporting a document as a PDF file, you can now specify a password for the PDF.
  • The Import File(s) dialog box allows you to specify multiple files before starting the import process.
  • You can now customize the folder browser toolbar and the document viewer toolbar.
  • Web Access now includes a breadcrumb that displays your location in the folder tree.

Changes from Web Access 7

  • The document viewer now opens as a tab within Web Access instead of as a new browser tab.
  • Web Access now includes sticky note annotations in Exported PDF Files.
  • The folder browser now supports shift-clicking to select multiple items. (16759)
