Summary

When you attempt to open Laserfiche Scanning 8.0.0 in basic mode you may receive the following error message:

Element 'PageRange' was not found. Line 1, position 694.

Cause

This error can occur if you are opening Laserfiche Scanning 8.0.0 as a user that has opened Laserfiche Scanning 8.0.1 on a different workstation.

Workaround

Clear all the basic scanning user attributes for that user account.

To clear the basic scanning attributes for a user

1. Start the Laserfiche 8 Administration Console and log in to the appropriate repository as a user with the Manage Trustees privilege.
2. Expand the Users and Groups item.
3. Select the user you wish to modify.
4. From the Action menu, click Properties.
5. Click the Attributes tab.
6. In the View subset drop-down list option, select BasicScanning-UserName.
7. Select all of the values and click Remove.
8. Click OK to save your changes.
