Summary

You may be unable to change your Laserfiche installation from Programs and Features on Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.

Cause

The Setup.exe executables for Laserfiche 8 programs include checks that prompt you for the elevated permissions needed to perform installation operations. When you select the Change option from Programs and Features, Windows directly launches the .msi file, bypassing the prompt for elevated permissions. The installation runs without the needed privileges and will not successfully perform the desired changes.

Workaround

Manually launch the setup.exe file for the desired installation if you wish to perform changes to your installation.
