This article lists known issues with the Laserfiche 8 Migration Wizard.
Known Issues
- If there are multiple fields with the same name and the migration wizard cannot merge them together, the fields will be renamed using this format: TemplateName - FieldName.
- The migration wizard does not support reindexing Chinese characters. Please manually reindex your new repository using the Laserfiche 8 Administration Console. (38452)
- During the Repository Registration step of the migration process, the migration wizard attempts to start the Laserfiche Search Service. If the service does not start up within 30 seconds, the migration wizard will skip the step to reindex your repository. Please manually reindex your new repository using the Laserfiche 8 Administration Console.
- You may be unable to copy and paste electronic documents migrated from your Laserfiche 7 repository. The existing electronic documents in your pre-existing volume contain a file extension. During the copy procedure, Laserfiche Server 8 expects electronic documents to not contain a file extension. As a workaround, you may wish to remove the file extensions from your existing electronic document volume files. (37979)
- Search highlights may be off in your migrated repository for documents with text that contains hyphens. Re-OCRing the document resolves the issue. (38312)
- You cannot minimize the Laserfiche 8 Migration wizard.
- The Laserfiche 8 Migration wizard does not support 7.0.x databases that contain records management information. If you have a 7.0.x database with records management information, please upgrade to 7.1.x or 7.2.x before performing the migration.
