Summary

When you load the Workflow Designer, you may receive the following error message:

Workflow Designer has encountered a problem and needs to close.

The Workflow Designer then closes. When you load the Windows Event Viewer to view the Application log, you may see .NET Runtime errors involving EventType clr20r3.

Cause

The Workflow Designer may not be able to read the user setting XML files or Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 may be corrupted.

Resolution 1

Manually delete the user setting XML files to clear the user profile settings from the workstation.

To clear out a specific user's settings, delete the XML files from the following folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Laserfiche\Workflow

To clear out settings that apply to all users on a workstation, delete any XML files from the following folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Laserfiche\Workflow

Resolution 2

Repair or reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0.
