Summary

When you open a Microsoft Office document, you may receive the following prompt:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\LFObjects\LFOffice72.dll" contains macros. Macros may contain viruses. It is usually safe to disable macros, but if the macros are legitimate, you might lose some functionality.

Resolution

There is a hotfix available for Laserfiche Client 7.2.1. The fix is a signed version of LFOffice72.dll.

To update Laserfiche Client 7.2.1

  1. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the signed version of LFOffice72.dll.
  2. LFOffice72.zip

  3. Replace your existing version of LFOffice72.dll located at "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\LFOffice" with the updated version included in the zip file.
  4. Register LFOffice72.dll.
    1. Click Start and then click Run.
    2. Type the following and then click OK to register LFOffice72.dll.

      regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\LFOffice\LFOffice72.dll"

The next time you open a Microsoft Office document, you will have the option of configuring Microsoft Office to trust LFOffice72.dll.

More Information

This version of LFOffice72.dll is a digitally signed version of the same DLL that was previously released as a hotfix in Knowledge Base article: 1011746. There are no code changes and the digitally signed DLL remains version 7.2.0.4. If you view the file properties of the signed DLL, there will be a Digital Signatures tab.
