April 14, 2008 | KB: 1011963
Workflow Suite 8

Summary

Significant changes made to a machine hosting the Laserfiche server may cause Workflow 8 to no longer recognize certain repositories.

Examples: Moving the Laserfiche Server to a new machine or renaming the machine on which the Laserfiche Server is hosted.

Resolution

Perform the following steps to reconfigure Workflow 8 to account for such changes.

Step 1: Stop the Workflow Server

  1. Open Windows Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Administrative Tools.
  3. Double-click Services.
  4. Right-click the Laserfiche Workflow 8.0 service and select Stop.

Step 2: Edit the Workflow Server Configuration file

  1. Using a text editor (e.g., Notepad), open the Workflow Server's configuration file: Laserfiche.Workflow.Service.exe.config. This file is located in the Workflow 8 installation folder. By default, this folder is located at C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Workflow.
  2. Warning: Make a copy of your configuration file before making any changes. In the event the Workflow Server will not run after completing the steps below, replace the modified configuration file with the original.

  3. Delete all text between and including the <subscriberConnections> tags.
  4. Locate the <LaserficheDirectoryDomains> tag that contains the repository you want to reconfigure. Delete all text between and including this tag.

Example: For a repository named MyLaserficheRepository, delete all text between and including <LaserficheDirectoryDomain name="mylaserficherepository" display="MyLaserficheRepository"> and </LaserficheDirectoryDomain>.

  5. Save the file.

Step 3: Restart the Workflow Server

  1. Open Windows Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Administrative Tools.
  3. Double-click Services.
  4. Right-click the Laserfiche Workflow 8.0 service and select Start.

Step 4: Run the Workflow Subscriber Configuration Utility

  1. Open the Workflow Subscriber Configuration Utility.
  2. Click through the wizard, configuring the appropriate repositories.
