Summary

The Laserfiche Server Service does not successfully start. When you attempt to start the service from the Windows Services MMC snap-in, you may receive the following error message:

Could not start the Laserfiche Server 7.2.1 service on the local computer.

Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

In your Laserfiche Server's lfs.log file, you may find the following error message:

[7050] Open repository 'RepositoryName' failed: Cannot generate SSPI context
[7050.0] Unable to open repository 'RepositoryName'. Cannot generate SSPI context

Cause

The Laserfiche Server service is configured to log on using an account that does not have sufficient permission to access your SQL Server.

Resolution

Modify the Laserfiche Server service to use a different Windows account with sufficient permission to access the desired SQL Server.
