Summary

When you open a document, you cannot view the images or the text of the document. The Image and Text options in the View menu are grayed out. The View Image and View Text toolbar buttons are also grayed out.

Cause

The Laserfiche client image and text controls are not registered.

Resolution

Manually register the Laserfiche client image and text controls.

To register the Laserfiche client 7.2 image and text controls

1. Click Start and then click Run.
2. Type the following and then click OK to register the controls.

   regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\Controls\LFImage72.ocx" "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\Controls\LFText72.ocx"

If you are encountering this issue on Laserfiche client 7.0.x or 7.1.x, please modify the above procedure to use the correct file names. Please see the following table for the file names of the image and text controls for different versions of the Laserfiche client.
