Summary

When you attempt to install Laserfiche Web Access or Laserfiche WebLink, you may receive one of the following error messages:

Web Access requires IIS 5.0 or greater

WebLink requires IIS 5.0 or greater

You receive this message even though you are certain that you have previously installed IIS.

Cause

There may be a mismatch between the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\InetStp\PathWWWRoot registry string value and the actual IIS install path.

Resolution

Manually modify the PathWWWRoot registry string value so that it matches the home directory for your Default Web Site.

To check the home directory for your Default Web Site

1. Click Start and then click Control Panel
2. Double-click Administrative Tools.
3. Double-click Internet Information Services.
4. Expand your web server.
5. Expand the Web Sites item.
6. Select Default Web Site.
7. From the Action menu, select Properties.
8. In the Default Web Site Properties dialog box, click the Home Directory tab.
9. Take note of the value specified in the Local Path option.

To modify the PathWWWRoot registry value

1. Click Start and then click Run.
2. Type the following and then click OK to load the Windows Registry Editor.

   regedt32

3. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
4. Expand SOFTWARE.
5. Expand Microsoft
6. Select the InetStp key.
7. On the right, double-click the PathWWWRoot string value.
8. Make sure the value matches the IIS Default Web Site's home directory path.
