Laserfiche Scanning May Not Properly Release the Scanner.

Summary

When you close Laserfiche Scanning, you may find that your scanner may not be available for use with certain other applications. When you try to access your scanner from another software application, you may receive an error message similar to the following:

    The image scanner cannot be found. Please check power supply, cable connection and make sure scanner is not in use by another application.

Workaround

Restart the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service.

To restart the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service

  1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Administrative Tools.
  3. Double-click Services.
  4. Scroll down and select the "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" item.
  5. From the Action menu, point to All Tasks and select Restart.
