Configuring the OmniPage OCR Engine's Sensitivity Settings.

August 7, 2014 | KB: 1011844
Laserfiche 7.2.1, Quick Fields 7.1.2, Scanning 7.2.1, Web Access 7.2.1

Summary

The sensitivity settings determine how much detail to use when recognizing characters. If the OmniPage OCR process seems to return a large number of spurious characters, you can try lowering the sensitivity.

More Information

Use the registry to configure the sensitivity settings. There are two sensitivity DWORD values, one for the regular OCR process and one for the Zone OCR process:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Laserfiche\Laserfiche OmniPage OCR\OCREngine Sensitivity
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Laserfiche\Laserfiche OmniPage OCR\ZoneOCREngine Sensitivity

The sensitivity setting for the regular OmniPage OCR process is only available in version 7.2.1.1 or later of BPOmniOCR.exe.

The sensitivity setting for the OmniPage Zone OCR process is only available in version 7.2.1.3 or later of BPOmniOCR.exe.
